We present comparison data and demo inrush, static, and dynamic power consumption for various designs implemented in Virtex-4 FPGAs, as well as for competing 90nm devices which lack these critical technologies. Also included in this module are demonstrations of power analysis tools and ML481 demonstration board.

The enhanced MicroBlaze 32-bit soft processor core from Xilinx introduces new user-configurable features to help you achieve higher performance embedded designs in Virtex-4 FPGAs. We create a MicroBlaze design using the award-winning Xilinx Platform Studio v7.1i tool suite. We target the design to a Virtex-4 development board using first software emulation, and then new options to increase the performance of a software-based filter design.
